These days, more and more companies are exchanging the traditional corporate Christmas party in favor of a summer picnic. The costs of a picnic, especially for the venue, are much lower than that of a Christmas party, while the absence of alcohol, the inclusion of family and games, the lower-formality atmosphere and the fun of the great outdoors are all promoting this sunshine-seeking trend. However, just because the event is more relaxed does not mean it comes without preparation.

The most important aspect of a successful picnic, whether serving thousands of guests or less than 150, is the location. Ease of access, availability of parking, quality of scenery, access to picnic tables, and the amount of park privacy must all come together in the correct amounts for the setting to be postcard-perfect.
