Wicked Party at the Steam Whistle Brewery

500 Dance up a storm

The 2001 CM & IT Symposium and Trade Show wound up on Aug. 22 with a blast at the Steam Whistle Brewery in downtown Toronto. Guests jammed into the main bar area of the Brewery and overflowed easily to the outdoor patio. There, under a softly lit tent, a giant barbecue & fry pan setup by BBQ Catering kept guests well supplied in grilled nibbles all night long. Inside on the dance floor a disco beat pounded away. When guests overheated, giant fans helped cool them down.

Safe Bar Management

Keeping a hot young crowd wet & cool without encouraging alcohol abuse takes some planning. The three bars set up for the party were well stocked with a variety of non or only slightly alcoholic drinks. Sangria, spritzers, frozen fruit drinks, real fruit punch in a bowl carved from a block of ice, fruit juces and bottled water helped beat a big thirst. The happy result was no need for anyone to be cut off from the bar.
